Frequently Asked Questions
This is my first massage, what should I expect?
when you arrive we will do a health intake form, it will take about 5 minutes, Then we will discuss your injuries, health concerns, and this is a great time for you to ask questions. Let your massage therapist know if you are not okay with certain areas of your body being touched. The most important thing to remember is that it is your massage. The style of massage you receive will dictate if you are fully clothed or undressed. If you choose to be undressed you will be appropriately draped the entire time and only the area being worked on will be exposed. After your massage is completed, your therapist will leave the room to allow you to get up and dressed. Your blood pressure decreases lying down during massage, you may get light-headed when sitting back up. So, take your time.

How will I feel after the massage?
You should feel some relief after a massage. Sometimes you may experience 24-48 hours of soreness, but it should be a good kind of sore, like you just had a workout. ibuprofen or a hot epson salt bath can help relieve some of this if it's too much. After a massage, you should feel relaxed and mellow. like your whole body is able to receive oxygen. Don’t expect that a one-time massage will solve a lifelong backache or other chronic pain. A lot of people expect to be cured in an hour an important question to ask yourself: “How long did it take to get this backache and how long have I had it?” For many things, such as a backache, it’s a cumulative effect and you may need several consecutive treatments.
The effects of massage don’t last but neither do the effects of bathing. Which is why we recommend you do both often!
